Stuffed apples

We  snacks and we  fruit… Imagine how we feel about fruit snacks! We found this delicious recipe on Chickslovefood. The perfect healthy snack to enjoy with friends… Or all by yourself!  😉

Ingredients for two stuffed apples:

  • 2 large apples
  • 2 small apples
  • 50 gr currants
  • 50 gr raisins
  • 30 gr pecan nuts
  • 3 tsps cinnamon
  • 3 tsps cane sugar
  • 2 slices of savory pie dough (contains less fat than puff pastry)
  • 1 beaten egg

This is how you make it:

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the tops of the two large apples and hollow them out with a spoon. Peel the two small apples and cut them into small pieces. Mix the apple pieces with the currants, raisins, pecan nuts, sugar and cinnamon and stir it together. Cut long strips of the dough. Fill the hollowed apples who are with the apple mixture and place three strips of dough in width and length over the apples. Beat the egg and brush the top of the dough. Put the apples in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes.
