Photoreport: Bugaboo Runner for Fit Mommies

Fit & Training door thijs

If being a #FITGIRLCODE Ambassador wasn’t already awesome! I received an invitation by #FITGIRLCODE HQ if I wanted to represent the Fit Girls that are moms too at the Dutch launch of the Bugaboo Runner. Well, let me think about that…. Duh, of course! And what a fun and fit quality time day out with my boo it was.

The event was hosted in Amsterdam’s Vondelpark. And as we entered the park, my baby boy and me soon saw 7 beautiful strollers lined up next to a lovely picknick table.

Laurianne Ruhe, a Dutch foodblogger, hosted the healthy picknick table loaded with all kinds of healthy pleasures: dates and nuts truffles; mason jars filled with fruit, granola and yoghurt; peanut butter bites… They’ve set up a cute little kids corner too, filled with kidsproof snacks like popcorn, veggie chips and fruit.

My baby boy needed some time to acclimatize, but nothing says ‘This is cool’ like blowing bubbles! (Just don’t taste it, boy. Really.)

We almost forgot why we were there, enjoying all the yummy pre work-out snacks. But then Tarek Othman from The Bootcamp Club made us get up and get ready for the Runner Bootcamp. First, the product manager from Bugaboo showed us how easy it is to use the Bugaboo Runner. What I especially like is that the chassis can be bought seperately to fit the seat of any regular Bugaboo stroller. So if you already have one, you can simply buy the extension. Saves space, money and the environment, yay!

Finally, it was time for our work out. Tarek Othman from The Bootcamp Club was really considerate about limitations of the (recently) pregnant moms. The work out we did consisted of short sprints and some intervalled exercises, making a perfect preview of the special Mommy Bootcamps they’re offering, which from June 1st till June 20th you can try for free!!

Being the loviest Mini-me you can think of, my baby boy couldn’t sit back in his stroller and just watch. Just as his mommy, he likes to get in the game! So every time we stopped for an exercise, he would get out and squat/lunge/push-up with me.

But running with the Bugaboo Runner for us was the best part, just as for the other kids. I loved hearing him giggle as we ran across the park, his soft hairs flying up from the wind in his face. I can’t wait to go out and run together again, and so can’t he.

After the work-out, Laurianne was waiting for us with a delicious and healthy lunch. Although the kids didn’t get the way the pancakes had been served. ‘Where’s the sugar?’ they all asked. Ha, tradition is a b… It didn’t matter, as Laurianne made my boy drink his daily portion of veggies by serving up a wonderful green smoothie.

The sugar came afterwards: not only were we spoilt rotten with a lovely goodie bag and getting the Bugaboo Runner for keeps, but above all it was a perfect mother and son quality time moment. And that moms, is priceless.
